Mary Watson

Mary Martha Watson passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025 at the age of 95.

Mary is survived by her son Rex and daughters Kathleen and Valerie (Paul) five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Brother Doug (Donette) sister in laws Eleanor and Mayanne(Gary) and many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her son Tyler, husband Cecil, son in law Jim and daughter in law Linda. Her sisters and their spouses Rose(Bob) and Taylor(Jim).

Mary worked as a switchboard operator in Vulcan. She married Warner Cecil Watson May 27, 1950. They travelled with their children to many towns across Alberta and Saskatchewan, as Cecil worked as a seismic surveyor. When they settled in Calgary, Mary worked for AGT, now Telus until retirement.

Mary and Cecil moved to Canmore in 1984. Mary enjoyed hiking, bird watching, activities at the Seniors Centre, chair yoga, trips to StageWest in Calgary. Mary and Cecil enjoyed several cruises and trips to Disneyland. Mary’s last trip to Disneyland was December 2021, just prior to her 92nd Birthday. Then a trip to Hawaii in 2022.Mary - Always optimistic, with faith in the future and a sense of adventure.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Christa McPherson, EMS, Canmore Hospital ER and Acute Care nurses and doctors, Home Care and the Physiotherapy Department. Extra special thanks to the caregivers and Staff of Origin.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Origin 808 Spring Creek Dr. on Monday, June 16 from 2:00-4:00pm.
