Marleen Heidenreich, born on April 27, 1942, in Koblenz, Germany, passed away on May 28, 2026, in Cochrane, Alberta.

Marleen was born to Marga and Karl in Germany. She was also sister to Werner and Ria, both of whom have since passed away. Despite the loss of her immediate family members, and the distance between them, Marleen did her best to maintain a strong connection to her roots and family heritage.

She is survived by her cherished daughters, Astrid Heidenreich of Canmore (Raymond Boiger) and Birgit Park of Calgary (Craig Park), who were sources of great pride and joy for her. Marleen’s love extended to her three grandchildren: Aiden Park and Annika Park, both residing in Calgary, and Conrad Boiger who lives in Sydney, Australia. Her role as a mother and grandmother was central to her life, and she treasured the moments spent with them.

Marleen is also survived by her sisters Ulla Konrad, Hilde Reiche, and Gerda Merkt, all of whom reside in Germany. Their lifelong bond was a testament to the enduring strength of family ties across continents.

Her passing in Cochrane, Alberta, marks the end of a remarkable journey from her beginnings in Germany to her life in Canada. She loved to hike, bike and swim and her years in Canmore were very happy ones for her! Marleen’s legacy remains in the hearts of those who knew her and in the family she so lovingly nurtured.

The family respectfully suggests donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada in honor of Marleen’s life and spirit.
