Lee Sheldon LaCarte

May 14, 1952 — March 22, 2026

Lee LaCarte passed away on March 22, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was cared for with great compassion by the staff at Canmore General Hospital, and the family is deeply grateful.

Born and raised in Englehart, Ontario, Lee built his successful business, Lee’s Coach Tours, over many years before moving west with his devoted wife Faye to Dead Man’s Flats, Alberta.

In the Rockies, Lee continued his strong work ethic, spending long hours operating heavy equipment amid the mountains and wildlife he loved. He enjoyed hiking the bush and had a special routine of feeding the local ravens—they knew his truck well and would circle to greet him each time he arrived.

Lee had a deep love for his many dogs throughout his life; they were his constant companions, bringing him endless comfort and joy. He will be remembered fondly for the way he cared for them, and the family finds peace in knowing he is reunited with his faithful dogs once more.

A lifelong admirer of Corvettes and fine vehicles, Lee took quiet pride in them.

He is survived by his loving wife Faye; son Ken LaCarte and daughter-in-law Iris, with grandsons Gian and Jullian; daughter Lisa Moxam and son-in-law James Moxam, with grandsons Lukas and Jakob.

Lee’s connection to the mountains, the ravens, his dogs, and his family will live on. Rest in peace, Dad.
