Lawrence Hutchings

Lawrence (Hutch) Hutchings passed away suddenly and peacefully on May 12, 2012 in Canmore, Alberta. Hutch was a beloved husband, dad, grandad, teacher, friend, and owner of Second Story Books. He enjoyed participating in community theatre; seeking out treasured books; and contributing his perspective on local politics.

Hutch is survived by his wife Heath; sons Kris (Marianne) and Greg; granddaughter Maile; sister Lee (Ron); brother Stewart (Sharon); numerous nieces & nephews; and close friends. Hutch impacted many lives and will always be remembered for his generosity, quick wit and sense of humour.

In lieu of flowers, Hutch's family would like to request that donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, #200, 119 – 14 Street NW, Calgary AB, T2N 1Z6 or the Bow Valley SPCA, PO Box 8154, Canmore, AB T1W 2T9.

In respecting Hutch's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A gathering for family and friends will be held at a future date.
