Jan Polonis

Jan Polonis, resident of the Bow Valley since 1949, passed away unexpectedly December 6, 2010 in Canmore at the age of 96 years.

Jan is survived by Grigori, Valija, Deb, Pierre, Chloe, and Sasha Juravleff-Boucher of Canmore.

Jan came to Canada from Poland in 1946. He briefly worked in Three Hills farming, and then continued his journey to Exshaw where he worked for Lafarge for 26 years until he retired.

Jan loved gardening and had the best potatoes in Canmore. If you were looking for Jan, you could find him in his garden surrounded by beautiful coloured flowers. Jan will be sadly missed and always remembered.

Graveside service of interment was held Monday, December 13, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Field of Honour, Canmore Cemetery.

A gathering of friends followed at the Canmore Legion.
