James Richard Smith

James Richard Smith was born October 15, 1948 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. He passed away on May 19, 2025. He leaves to mourn his dear wife Donna Maureen Smith, his brother Dale, sisters – Donna, Marlene (Tim) and Darlene. His sons Jonathan (Christa), Christopher and grandchildren.

Jim was a draftsman designer for the Government of Alberta and became the main architect of the Kananaskis and other parks the public enjoys today. Jim enjoyed golfing and travelling with Donna. They enjoyed being snowbirds in Mesa, Arizona. He belonged to a car club in Mesa and enjoyed showing his 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS. 

Jim will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to the Bow Valley SPCA (https://www.bowvalleyspca.org/donate/invest-their-future/).
