Born and raised in Toronto, Glynn earned a Bachelor of Mathematics and Teaching Degree from the University of Waterloo. A cross-Canada trip in 1974 led him to the Rockies. He discovered the Rocky Mountains, met Evanne, and fell in love with both. They married on May 8, 1976, and built a life together in the Bow Valley. Living in the mountains was filled with hiking, biking, skiing, and travel.
Glynn then pursued his accounting designation, launching a successful and respected career. He served as Head of Finance at Canmore Hospital, playing a key role in the development of the new hospital. In 1996, Glynn opened an accounting practice, Linnard and MacLean, above the Bagel Co. There, he built lasting relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
Glynn took great pride in his family. Erin (Greg) and Adam (Lauren) brought much joy to his life. He was a devoted grandfather to Bentley, Bryn, River, Pika, and Shay—five grandsons who were the light of his life. Alongside joy came deep sorrow. After years of illness, his beloved daughter Erin passed away on October 24, 2020, a loss that profoundly affected the family.
Glynn gave generously of his time, serving for many years as Treasurer of Banff Full Gospel Church, the Bow Valley Food Bank and Canmore Minor Hockey, among others. Although he officially retired, he maintained his CPA designation and continued to support a small number of clients. The relationships he built, both personally and professionally, meant a great deal to him. But the title that he treasured most was Grampa!
