It is with deep grief and sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our dear daughter Enya Isabella Wolf Hines on June 28, 2026.
Enya was a kind, fun loving, intelligent, hard working young woman who made friends easily and left everyone who chanced to meet her better for the experience.
She was a young woman of the Yellowknife Dene First Nations with a deep connection to nature. She was an accomplished horse women with many equestrian ribbons in show jumping. She was at home in the mountains whether hiking at Talus Lodge, Lake Agnes Tea House or skiing at Lake Louise.
Enya lived all of her life in Canmore and attended CRPS French Immersion where she developed a passion for volleyball alongside her love for competitive equestrian show jumping.
After graduating from CCHS she attended the University of Victoria. On returning to Canmore she could be seen working at Chez Francois. She completed a make-up artistry certificate at MC college and was planning to pursue this as a career.
On her many world travels she befriended lonely dogs, held sand crabs, swam with sea lions or sat quietly among giant turtles in the Galapagos. She spent some summers kissing banana slugs at Islandwood camp in Washington, sailed through the Great Bear Rain Forest with SALTS and one of her highlights was riding on horseback among herds of wild giraffes with the anti-poaching unit rangers in Zimbabwe.
She was equally comfortable picking up horse manure on the farm or wearing stiletto shoes out with friends.
Enya was the beloved daughter of Kevin Hines and Barb Forster. She leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, birth family, and her many friends, her 3 horses Ryley, Merit and Jaxx and 2 dogs Cinnamon and Noah.
Ride your horse into the sun Enya – your smile and laughter will be sorely missed.
A celebration of Enya’s life will be held at the Bill Warren Center, Canmore Nordic Center, Friday, August 21, 3 – 6 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Enya Hines to the Alberta Equestrian Federation (AEF). Please go to the AEF website to be directed to donate at https://albertaequestrian.com/donate/. Enya would love that any person – adult or child, who wanted to have experience with horses such as riding lessons, therapeutic riding lessons or equine therapy for mental health could apply for funding. Please include Enya Hines Memorial in the donation comments, e-transfers or cheque memo. Thank you very much.
