Dana Wendy Walsh was born December 7, 1951 in the beautiful city of Toronto, Ontario to Grace Towne and William Walsh. She was the youngest of five children (Gary, June, Billy, Greg).
Sadly, Dana peacefully passed away on May 28, 2025 in the gorgeous mountain town of Canmore, Alberta. She loved the Rocky Mountains of Alberta and, upon meeting the love of her life in such a scenic and peaceful place, she decided to plant her roots and make Canmore her home.
Dana grew up a Leafs fan in a house of Habs fans, proving this to be her first act as being a leader, never a follower, and blazing her own trails through life’s journey. The legendary Börje Salming was her favourite player.
She is survived by her spouse (Andrew Edward Cooper), three children (Josie Turner, Ben Turner, Johnny McQuarrie) and her eight grandchildren (Melissa Sanayhie, Owen Turner, Alicia Sanayhie, Joel Turner, Layla McQuarrie, Ewan McQuarrie, Rowan McQuarrie and Bodhi McQuarrie).
As a mother, Dana had a close relationship with her children, always throwing exciting get togethers for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. She provided a wholesome household with a strong bond amongst her close family and she was always there for her kids.
