Audrey Petrie

Audrey was a true Southern Alberta girl. Born and raised in Calgary, she moved to the Bow Valley in 1950 with her husband Al. Many years were spent in Seebe under the beauty of Mount Yamunaska before their move to Canmore, where the Three Sisters became their mountain backdrop.

Mom was an extremely proud member of the Southern Alberta Pioneers and took delight in her pioneer heritage. Mom loved community involvement, including being an elected School Board Trustee for 20+ years. Mom also had the pleasure of being a part of the Banff IODE and helping to improve the lives of those in need. Mom and Dad both took great joy in being members of the Canmore Golf Club, which was home to countless rounds of golf and family meals.

Special thanks to Dr Q (retired) and the doctors and staff at the Canmore Associate Medical Clinic; to the staff at the Bow River Seniors Lodge; to the Community Care team; and to the staff at the Canmore Hospital who cared for Mom in her final days. An extra special thank you to Mom’s wonderful neighbours and friends. Familiar faces, voices and stories were integral following Dad’s passing in 2020.

Mom always told us to bring her flowers while she was alive and not after she was gone. Dad was a regular florist customer throughout their lives together. Please choose to do something special for those that you care about while they are here to appreciate it.
